Version 1.15 Notes

This version introduces an important new feature in the Battery Maintenance Charger function to more accurately charge during the absorption stage. A new Settings option, CHARGER HARNESS RESISTANCE, allows the user to choose a fixed value of 86 milliohms or AUTO-CALIBRATION. Screen shot below:

The default selection is AUTO-CALIBRATION which measures cable resistance installed in the aircraft through a proprietary scheme. If measured cable resistance is greater than 120 milliohms, current limiting is automatically engaged. Measured charger harness resistance above 220 milliohms may indicate a fault condition (possible corrosion or bad connection) and charging is suspended.

The FIXED AT 86 MILLIOHMS selection is appropriate if the provided harness kit has been installed. With this selection, current limiting and suspension features are not enabled.

This firmware release also includes the following refinements:

  • Detection of excessive parasitic load in both maintenance mode and scheduled charge.

  • Improved convergence to target absorption and float voltages

  • Increased time for bulk and absorption modes to accommodate larger battery types

  • Improved user feedback when center button is pressed and held

  • Improved timing of initial charge delay and scheduled charge
