However, for short periods of time (an hour or two), the GPU’s output can be used to “top-off” the charge of a battery that is NOT serverely discharged. This is particularly useful during a powered preflight, allowing the pilot to take his\/her time to check every airframe system and lights for proper operation without depleting the starting battery. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTo optimize battery capacity and reliability, we highly recommend full-time, maintenance charging desulfation, and recovery.
